NEW B.F.G. ALBUM BEING RECORDED

'PULLING WINGS FROM BUTTERFLIES' DUE EARLY 2018

First B.F.G.  Recording In Thirty Years

OUT OF THE DARKNESS INTO THE LIGHT

After nearly thirty years experience a life outside of the studio and performing as BFG, as a result of a speculative message from German promoter Jurgon Jackob, BFG reformed for a never to be forgotten reunion in Berlin in October 2016, featuring the original ‘Paris’ and ‘Amelia’ and BLUE vocalist BJ Williams. Originally planned as a one off, the gig resulted in BFG being asked to perform in front of 1,300 fans who had travelled from all over the world including Peru, USA and Australia to catch the elusive Manchester Post industrial band’s performance at the Felsenkeller – Leipzig, as part of the WGT Festival.

It was decided that now was the right time to finally, after a delay of a generation, for BFG to finally record a new full-length album.

The album utilises various ‘on location’ recordings and samples made as far afield as Havanna in Cuba,  the summit of a Volcano in Indonesia, and various locations in Canada, USA, and Malaysia.

BLUE’s LEGACY’

For thirty years BFG had seen all and said nothing.  The band’s last album BLUE, released in the late 80’s  was declared ‘Album of The Decade‘ by Boston Radio and described by the USA’s version of John Peel, Post Punk / Industrial champion Radio D.J. Coyote J. as ‘More intense than Joy Division without the depression.’ It is now considered as one of the important early Industrial Post Punk releases. with US Label Drastic Plastic recognised the importance of BLUE, releasing the album throughout the US in  coloured  vinyl format in (red obviously)

BLUE explored the then current edge of music technology, i.e. sampling and the abuse thereof, that engineer Guy Hatton, as an important cornerstone of the Utah Saints subsequently had UK chart success with. Since BLUE, albums by Nine Inch Nails such as Pretty Hate Machine and Downward Spiral  have taken that template to a much wider audience.

‘Pulling Wings From Butterflies’

RECORDING IN PROCESS

For a generation, B.F.G. have seen everything and said nothing, at least in regards to new recordings. Now it is time to remove the self-imposed exile.

‘Pulling Wings From Butterflies’  is as real’ as it gets with the recordings started  early August 2017

The review of BFG’s live performance in Leipzig was described in ‘Sonic Seducer’ magazine as a ‘massively designed massacre of me-toos and wannabees,’ That statement also perfectly describe the sonic and lyrical qualities of the tracks on the new album. Another description would be ‘brutal’

The  reasons for the  numerous delays in  BFG  recording any new material over  the last few years has been due to issues were required to be dealt with that were of greater importance and impact than even the most political music could ever be,

more important than new music.members of BFG has been dealing with  that involved  direct discussions with the  UK Government at Cabinet level by the  Israel Parliment, questions being raised, and then supported in European Parliment, the UK government being forced to complete a complete U-Turn and then provided  information with a victory a the European Court.

The issue and associated fall out made headlines throught the world

the album will be ripping apart common held misconceptions and cause the listener to question exactly what side of the line they are on.

It will not make for comfortable listening.

Supporting the album’s  will be a book release, planned for later in 2018 (Further details to follow)
